A weekend in Austin

Tracie and I spent the weekend in Austin and although it was really really hot and sunny, we got some good photos.

Part of the first day was spent at the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower Center.  It was hot, sunny and just plain nasty for photography…but I still got some pretty good shots.

Here’s a cactus flower taken with my  Canon EOS 5D and Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM.

The Wildflower center had a really cool tower…here’s a shot taken with my  Canon EOS 5D and Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM.

On Sunday, I went up to the Texas State Capitol while Tracie was at a photo shoot…I meandered around and tried to take some shots at different perspectives.  I really liked the fence around the capitol and tried to setup an interesting shot…taken with my  Canon EOS 5D and my wife’s Canon EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM lens.
