Bird photos from the local park

I’m always amazed how much wildlife lives within a mile of my house.  I live in a fairly new suburban neighboorhood (10 years ago it was very rural) and our housing edition has nice park with a pond, creak and lots of trees.

I’ve been seeing a lot of Double-Crested Cormorant‘s at the pond and have been wanting to walk over and get some good photos…and finally did so yesterday.  I got some good photos of Cormorants, Ducks, Seagulls (yes..seagulls) and a Downy Woodpecker.

All photos taken with my Canon EOS 5D and my Canon EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS USM.
