I just added a Canon EF 24-105mm f/4 L IS USM and a Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM Ultra Wide Angle Zoom
to my camera kit!
I found the Canon 24-105 L on eBay for $700 a few days ago and have been watching it. The listing is from a reputable photographer who had placed an advertisement for the listing on the Canon Digital Photo Forum. When I saw the “FS – Canon 24-105L – MINT – only used twice” ad, I jumped over to eBay and grabbed it. What a steal….a $1000 lens for $700…good for me! ![]()
Immediately picking up the 24-105, I was goofing around on Amazon and noticed that the 17-40 L that I’ve been lusting after had been marked down to $700! Thankfully, I’d been saving up some money to pick up both the 17-40 and 24-105 and jumped at the chance to get a $1200 MSRP lens for $700.
I bought both of these lenses with the money I’d been saving and have about $500 left over…now what to do with that money?
I think i’ll save it for a rainy day…or at least a day when I find another great deal somewhere.
Now…I just have to wait for these great lenses to arrive…can’t wait! I’ll post some pics as soon as I can the lenses.
BTW – These 2 lenses get me to a total of 4 now.
My current kit is:
- Canon EOS 5D
- Canon EF 17-40mm f/4L USM Ultra Wide Angle Zoom (en-route)
- Canon EF 100-400mm f4.5-5.6L IS USM Telephoto Zoom (the first lens I bought for my old Canon EOS 40D
)
- Canon EF 85mm f/1.8 USM Telephoto Lens
(a hand-me down after I got my wife up the Canon EF 85mm f1.2L II USM
for Chrismas)
