I captured this female cowbird eating bird seed at Spring Creek Nature Preserve last week. Captured with Canon 7D and Canon 400mm 5.6 L sitting on my Induro CT314 Tripod.

Nice pic! I’ve been getting alot of Brown Headed Cowbirds around lately. Many more than last year. Just can’t seem to bring myself to like these guys! Seen a few of their young with ‘other’ birds raising them!
Thanks Karl!
The cowbirds are starting to show back up here too. I’m not a big fan of them (there are just so many of them here) but occasionally they can be sort of cute
I think he’s cute. Looks like a sparrow to me. Is it the blue beak that distinguishes the bird?
Definitely a female cowbird. The female cowbird is brown and usually a bit bigger than a sparrow (as this one was). Thanks!
