Male Cardinal eating seeds
Tue, Mar 2, 2010
I caught this male Cardinal eating seeds at Spring Creek Forest Preserve in Garland TX. Looks like I grabbed the shot at the perfect time….he’d just chomped the seed and spit out the seed. If you look close enough, you’ll see his tongue.
Captured with Canon 7D and Canon 400mm 5.6 L sitting atop my Induro CT314 Tripod.

Another winner! I see you are using a 400 lense. The longest I have is a 300. Would that work for great photos like these?
Hi Danny -
I do have a 400mm f/5.6 L prime lens. A 300mm prime would work very well for photos like these too
