Caught this Flycather in Zion National Park. I’m usually not a fan of a lot of twigs and limbs in photos, but I think this composition works well. Captured with my Canon 7D and Canon 400mm 5.6 L handheld.

Scissor-tailed Flycatcher (my first!)

This is my first Scissor-tailed Flycatcher! I went out this morning (First time out with the camera in quite a while) and found a few Scissor-tailed Flycatcher’s around Bob Woodruff Park in Plano, TX. Captured with Canon 7D and Canon 400mm 5.6 L on my Induro CT314 Tripod and RRS BH-55 Ballhead.

This is an Antelope Squirrel we found in the Valley of Fire near Las Vegas. We visited the Valley of Fire on the way back from Zion. Taken with Canon 7D and Canon 400mm 5.6 L handheld.

Great Blue Heron – Village Creek Drying Beds

Baby Swallow Learning to Fly

I caught this great scene in my backyard. A famiy of swallows were flying around and this baby was having trouble flying. Momma (or dad..who knows) was trying to coax him into the air…he finally took off after a few hours of relaxing on the fence.
